Welcome to my corner of creative chaos
👋 I’m Jax.
I’m a personal chef, artist, eco-enthusiast, DIY junkie, and storyteller with a love for making things work — creatively, sustainably, and with whatever I’ve got on hand. I graduated from culinary school in 2017, became a mom in 2019, and I’ve basically been mixing, mending, and making things since I could reach the stove.
This space? It’s a mash-up of all my passions — food, parenting, drawing, designing, writing, and trying new things because, well, ADHD and laser focus aren’t exactly besties. I used to think I had to pick one thing… but honestly, I’m better when I don’t.
I created this site to share skills that are practical, old-school, and a little rebellious — the kind of things our grandmothers knew, reimagined for modern life. I believe in cooking with real ingredients, fixing things instead of tossing them, and living well without spending a fortune.
I live in a condo in San Diego, not a farmhouse, but that doesn’t stop me. I’ve got a patio garden, a pantry full of homemade staples, and a DIY spirit that keeps me constantly creating.
If you’re into budget-friendly meals, low-waste living, creative projects, or just want to feel a little more self-sufficient in your own space — I’m so glad you’re here.
Let’s make stuff. Let’s make it better. Let’s make it fun!
